We’ve refreshed our micro-booklet programme to make it simpler, fairer, and more useful for writers. Submissions are now open year-round for pieces up to 300 words in any genre, and we publish four micro-booklets each year.

You can submit for free (no feedback), or choose optional feedback if you’d like editorial notes: For £30 Receive a focused editorial feedback report of approximately two sides of A4 within 10 working days. Payment never affects editorial decisions. Buy your feedback option before submitting to us- details of how to send your work are at the bottom of the page.

Selected authors receive a £25 honorarium and 10 free author copies, with a contributor discount on extras. We also offer no-questions-asked bursary codes each quarter to keep the feedback tiers accessible.

Micro-Booklet Submissions are OPEN

General Submissions are OPEN

From 1st April to 26th June, Lemon Jelly Press opens its submissions window. During this time, we welcome new voices, new stories, new ideas, and new worlds. We read every submission with care and attention, and we look forward to discovering work that is bold, original, and unforgettable.

Submissions are free to enter.

We accept the following:

  • Novels (adult or children): the first 1,000 words

  • Poetry collections: the first five poems

  • Children’s picture books: full manuscript

  • Creative non-fiction: the first 1,000 words

Please submit one project per submissions window. This allows us to give each piece the time and consideration it deserves.

Alongside our free submissions route, we also offer optional feedback for those who would like professional editorial insight. This is not required for submission, but is available as an additional service:

  • Basic Feedback — £40

  • In-Depth Feedback — £85

Full details can be found in our shop.
