Writing, Play, and Wellbeing: Reconnecting with Your Creative Self

As children it is expected that play is how we explore, express, and make sense of the world. It's where creativity and learning live side by side — messy, joyful, and full of possibility.

But somewhere along the line, as we grow older, many of us are taught that "play" is frivolous, childish, even wasteful. We are asked to be serious. To get things right. To be productive.
And often, without even realising it, we lose the freedom to create simply for the joy of it.
