Women of the Wight is a hardcover heritage book celebrating the women who have shaped, and continue to shape, life on the Isle of Wight.
Supported by a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant, this project brings together stories from across the Island, spanning history and the present day. The book features women from all walks of life, from grassroots organisation leaders and community champions to artists, activists, and cultural changemakers. Some stories look back to the past, others capture voices living and working on the Island today, together forming a rich and inclusive record of women’s impact on Island life.
The book includes full-page colour portraits and original illustrations, alongside thoughtfully written profiles that place each woman within the wider story of the Isle of Wight. Printed as a high-quality hardcover with a full wraparound cover, it is designed to be both a lasting archive and a book to return to again and again.
